Who We Are

Peer Support and Advocacy Network (PSAN) is a consumer-run non-profit (501(c)3) organization offering peer support to individuals with mental illness through a variety of programs. All programs focus on recovery and the provision of hope and understanding. Current programs include:

New Horizons

New Horizons is a drop-in center located in Bellevue offering advocacy services, peer support, a free nutritious lunch and many other ongoing programs for consumers. It is located at 616 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue, PA 15202. The hours of operation are Monday through Fri from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 1:00 to 5:00pm. The phone number is (412) 766-8060. Membership is free.

The Allegheny County Warmline

The Allegheny County Warmline is a consumer operated telephone support service provided in partnership with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Office of Behavioral Health and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization. Telephone lines are open every day from 10:00 a.m. until midnight. Telephone Support Specialists are specially trained peers who are able to provide support as well as referral information to residents of Allegheny County who are 18 years or older. The phone number is toll-free 866-661-WARM (9276). Services are free, and all information will remain confidential.

The Warm and Friendly Calling Program

The Warm and Friendly Calling Program is an expansion of the Warmline, placing calls to consumers at specific, pre-arranged times, in order to provide support or just to check in. The Warm and Friendly Call program is open to all consumers in Allegheny County. You can call 412-894-2364 to request an enrollment form or for more information.

Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors are Certified Peer Specialists who offer support to individual consumers as they re-integrate into the community. Peer Mentors serve former residents of Mayview State Hospital, as well as other restrictive settings. Consumers are, with the support of a mentor, encouraged to join community activities that they find enjoyable, and regain as much independence as possible.

Peer Support and Advocacy Network

Peer Support and Advocacy Network is an affiliate of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, as an OMHSAS-approved trainer for Certified Peer Specialists and their Supervisors. Trainings for Southwestern Pennsylvania are scheduled throughout the year. Please contact our administrative office at 412-227-0402 for a specific schedule.
